Terms of Use
Burbles is in a small, invite-only Alpha. These terms cover the app as it is today. We'll update them as features change, and tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect.
By using Burbles you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Questions: support@burbles.app.
1. Who can use Burbles
You must be at least 16 to create an account, and you must give accurate information, including your birth year.
2. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep that sign-in secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
3. Stay safe
Never use Burbles while driving. Spot cars only when you're on foot or a passenger, and only where it's safe and legal. Respect private property and other people's privacy. Burbles never rewards speed and never asks you to spot on the road.
4. What you can't post or do
Burbles has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Don't post or do anything that:
- is sexual, hateful, harassing, threatening or violent, or targets a person;
- reveals other people's personal information, including readable licence plates or identifiable faces;
- promotes illegal or dangerous activity, including street racing, stunts, "takeovers" or unsafe driving;
- is spam or a scam, or impersonates someone, including Burbles;
- infringes someone else's rights, such as copyright;
- tries to game spotting, points, rarity or confirmations, for example photos not taken live in the app, faked locations, or coordinated confirmations.
5. How moderation works
- Filtering: posts and replies that include a photo, video or link, or language our filter flags, are reviewed before anyone else can see them.
- Reporting: you can report any post or reply. You stop seeing it straight away, and after three reports it's hidden from everyone until we review it.
- Blocking: you can block a member so you no longer see anything they post.
- Our response: we review reported and held content within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these terms.
- Enforcement: we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these terms, with or without notice.
During the Alpha, every spot is also checked by a reviewer before it counts.
6. Your content, and the licence you give us
You keep ownership of the photos, text and other content you create.
So that Burbles can work, you give Burbles a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt (for example resize, crop, blur plates and faces, and place your photo on cards and in layouts), display and distribute your content in Burbles, and in images Burbles creates that you or others share, such as story cards. The licence lasts while your content is in Burbles, plus a reasonable time for backups and for copies already shared. It ends for new uses when you delete the content or your account.
We won't use your photos anywhere else, for example as the catalogue photo for a car, without asking you first.
You confirm you have the rights to what you post and that it doesn't break these terms.
7. Burbles' content and car information
The Burbles app, design, name and logo belong to Burbles. Car specifications, prices and estimates are for information only. They may be incomplete or wrong, and estimates are labelled as estimates, so check before relying on them for a purchase. Catalogue photos belong to their photographers and are used under their licences, credited in the app. AI-written summaries are marked as such.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Burbles and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop offering Burbles.
9. The Alpha, and our responsibility
Burbles is an early Alpha. It's provided as it is and as available: features may change or stop, and data like points, sets or firsts may be reset (firsts earned before public launch will be). To the extent the law allows, Burbles isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using Burbles after that, the updated terms apply.
