How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete Account. That removes your account and sign-in, your profile, your spots and their photos, saved and followed cars, builds, notes, points, badges, notifications, and your Paddock profile, posts, replies and votes. It completes within 30 days. If you can't get into the app, email us and we'll do it for you. The Privacy Policy lists the few records that stay, with no link to you.

Can I get a copy of my data, or have it corrected?

Yes. Email support@burbles.app to ask for a copy, a correction or a deletion, and we'll respond within 30 days.

Why does Burbles ask for my location?

To help verify a spot and to check for duplicates. We store the exact coordinates and delete them after 90 days. What the app shows is an area name — a neighbourhood or a city, worked out on your phone. Never a street, and never a pin. You can add up to three home zones, and spots near them show no area at all.

Who can see my spots?

You choose, and the answer starts private. Settings → Show my spots to other members controls whether other members see a spot at all; when it's on they see the car, your handle, the city and the day — never the place or the time. Your own photographs are a second, separate switch, Show my photos on my spots, which is off unless you turn it on. Every number plate is covered before a photograph is shown to anyone, and a photograph we could not check is never shown at all. Turning either switch off hides what you have already saved as well as what comes next.

Your handle, display name and profile photo are public, as is anything you post in the Paddock. A car page shows counts of confirmed spots and followers, never who spotted or follows it.

How do I report a post, or block someone?

You can report any post or reply in the Paddock, and block an author to hide everything they post from you. We review reports and remove anything that breaks the Terms of Use. If something needs attention sooner, email us.

Why hasn't my photo become a spot?

Spots can only be taken with the in-app camera, so a photo from your library won't count, and a spot joins your collection once the car is confirmed. If one looks wrong or seems stuck, email us and say which day you took it.

What do I need to run it?

Burbles is an iPhone app. It reads in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Japanese and Korean, and follows your phone's language. It needs the camera to take a spot and, if you allow it, your location to place one; both are asked for the first time you use them, and both can be refused without the rest of the app stopping.

Safety

Only spot cars when you're parked or on foot, never while driving.
